About the Kerry National
The Kerry National is one of the big events on the Irish racing calendar and it takes place each year in September at the picturesque Listowel Racecourse. This is the most valuable race at the course throughout the season and it takes place over a distance of three miles with eighteen fences needing to be negotiated along the way. In order to be eligible for the race, horses must be aged four or older and must have contested over fences a minimum of three times.
